As I am completing some IRS forms today, I had to break down the number of services that we have contributed to by year. I thought that many of our supporters would want to see this information as well, so I wanted to post it.
We began in 2012, and to date have helped 64 families with funeral expenses for their children, totaling $38,558.60. These families live through out the United States, and it is such a joy to know that our organization isn’t limited to only one area. We have strived to say “Yes” to each family needing our assistance, and until just 2 years ago we had maintained that record. In 2016 and 2017 our family had some major events that took our time and energy, and we were in need of some time off. During that time we had to turn families away. This year has been much better for us, and we have found ourselves once again able to say “Yes” when we’ve gotten calls. It is my hope that now we are able to provide assistance for many more families, and that we can build this organization into a strong and sustainable resource for families in need across the US. The majority of the children that we have provided funeral funds for were either too young for life insurance, or were deemed uninsurable due to medical conditions. These stories are heart-breaking, and I often find myself in tears for the families. This isn’t an easy job at all, but I am so glad that God laid it on my heart to help these families, and that so many of my friends and family have gotten behind us and encouraged us to keep going, as well as helping to raise funds for the families that we serve. All funeral payments are made directly to the funeral home serving the family, and we are provided with copies of the funeral contract for each service. Our operating expenses are extremely low, mostly consisting of bank fees and website maintenance. The majority of your donations go directly towards funeral expenses. Thank you all for your continued support throughout the past 6 years. We couldn’t do what we do without all of you!
